about

Tape hiss. String buzz. Finger squeak. Amp noise. Breath. These things are the artifacts of specific moments, of real tangible space and human performance, the sounds of a document made at a certain place at a certain time. For Sam Cooper & The Sleepwalkers’ Overmorrow, that place was a small studio in Towson, MD, and the time was Feb. 1st – 3rd, 2013.

Recorded straight to 2-inch tape, and in large part performed live in the studio, Overmorrow’s five songs cover familiar SC&S thematic territory—love, loneliness, doubt, recovery—but, sonically, shed some of the sheen of the band’s previous recordings in favor of immediacy, fluidity, and dynamism.

Overmorrow is living and live, a direct transmission from a transient moment in SC&S’s existence: three mad-cap days in the dead of winter spent warm and insulated, making beautiful analog noise. Enjoy.
